This Garlic Soup Recipe Can Fight Colds, Flu and It may even be better than antibiotics…

This garlic soup recipe is based on more than 50 cloves of garlic that help destroy almost any virus that enters its path including colds, flu and even norovirus.

Garlic is a powerful antioxidant with antimicrobial, antiviral and antibiotic properties. Crushing fresh garlic causes a chemical reaction that releases allicin.  A mere 1 milligram of allicin is nearly 15 times as potent as penicillin. Allicin offers a broad spectrum of protection against pathogenic bacteria, viruses and parasites. A recent and significant finding from Washington State Universityshows that garlic is 100 times more effective than two popular antibiotics at fighting disease causing bacteria commonly responsible for foodborne illness.


25 garlic cloves (unpeeled)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons  butter
1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder
1/2 cup fresh ginger
2 1/4 cups sliced onions
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
25 garlic cloves, peeled
1/2 cup coconut milk
3 1/2 cups organic vegetable broth
3 lemon wedges


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread garlic cloves on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt and toss to coat. Place in the oven and bake until garlic is golden brown and tender, about 50 minutes.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a pot, over medium heat. Add onions, thyme, ginger and cayenne powder and cook until onions are translucent, about 6 minutes.  Add roasted garlic and 25 raw garlic cloves and cook 3 minutes.
  • Add vegetable broth and simmer until garlic is very tender, about 20 minutes
  • Working in batches, puree soup in blender until smooth. Return soup to saucepan and add coconut milk and bring to simmer.  Enjoy!
